Last week I was in Olympia and had the chance to meet a friend for lunch. We were to meet at Ramblin Jacks, our favorite. I parked my car, located the pay station and inserted my credit card. Pay station said card invalid. I tried it a few times, I knew there wasn’t anything wrong with my card. I looked around trying to figure out what to do.

Since I was near Orca Books, I went inside and asked for help. I thought I was doing something wrong. Nope, the city had shut off the ability to use your credit card. The people at Orca Books are awesome.

I headed back to my car and dug around for some change. Finally, I was able to meet my friend.

So, the City of Olympia doesn’t want me to come downtown and spend money. They sure don’t make it easy. Neither did they have anything posted to tell you only cash was accepted.

Hmmm, well, I will think twice before I head to downtown Olympia for lunch again.

Thank you, Orca Books, for helping me. I enjoy every time I come into your store.
