The campaign – “Bankers Care: Lending a Hand in Our Community” – begins March 18 and continues through April 5. Food and cash donations will be accepted at 500 branches of participating banks throughout the region,
“This food drive will make a real difference for area food banks and the thousands of families they serve,” said Jim Pishue, president and CEO of the association, in a release. “Many of our member banks and bankers are already active in the fight against hunger and we want to build on their efforts with this coordinated, industry-wide program.”
During the three-week Spring Food Drive campaign, bank branches of WBA member banks will serve as donation drop locations.
A full list of branches, as well as a direct link to make a cash donation online, is available at bankersinwacare.com.
Along with Heritage and Columbia, participating banks include Anchor Bank, Bank of America, Olympia Federal Savings, First Sound Bank, Umpqua Bank, Fortune Bank, Washington Trust Bank, Sound Community Bank, Sterling Bank, HomeStreet Bank, Pacific Crest Savings Bank, Wells Fargo, US Bank, and Seattle Mortgage Co.
