Tumwater Hill Elementary School’s Bookworm Buddies took first place in Tumwater School District’s recent Battle of the Books competition.

The game is similar to Family Feud, where teams confer and try to agree on an answer to a trivia question about a book within 30 seconds. Teams from all six Tumwater elementary schools competed in the finals hosted by East Olympia Elementary School, according to district spokeswoman Kim Howard.

“This has become a great district event that combines learning, teamwork, fun and friendly competition,” she said. Bookworm Buddies is a fifth-grade team made up of Megan Dreher, Emily Schade, Kali King and Jonathan Schade.

Here’s a story I wrote about Tumwater’s 2011 Battle of the Books competition.
