UPDATE: Phone and Internet service has returned to Olympia School District schools after a brief disruption this morning, according to district spokeswoman Rebecca Japhet.

The outage was due to a carrier issue. Service was restored at about 10 a.m.

EARLIER POST: All schools in the Olympia School District are without Internet and phone service at this time, according to a post on the district’s web site.

“It was a carrier issue,” said district spokeswoman Rebecca Japhet. “Comcast is our carrier. …They were doing maintenance and it impacted the configuration of our device. They’re on site and they’re working on it.”

Officials plan to post updates on the district's web site until the outage is resolved.

The district’s headquarters still has internet and phone service, so parents with an urgent need can call the Community Relations office at 360-596-6103.
