Curtis Norwood resigns as SPSCC's men's basketball coach

• Published March 21, 2013

Curtis Norwood, who spent the past three seasons as the men’s basketball coach at South Puget Sound Community College, voluntarily resigned last week.

Norwood compiled a 20-61 win-loss record in his three seasons, leading the Clippers to the NWAACC tournament during the 2011-12 season. Prior to SPSCC, Norwood spent three seasons as the River Ridge High School girls basketball coach, leading the Hawks to the 2A state title in 2008.

Attempts to reach Norwood for comment earlier this week were unsuccessful.

SPSCC is the second local college men's basketball program with a head coaching vacancy. Earlier this month, Saint Martin's fired Keith Cooper after 10 seasons.
