South Sound highlights for March 26

Reilly Fairchild threw a complete-game shutout, striking out five Tumwater batters in Aberdeen’s 4-0 win over the Thunderbirds in a 2A Evergreen Conference game. Fairchild also went 2-for-3 with an RBI. Tumwater junior pitcher Garrett Terrell had six strikeouts in the loss.

Henry Cook tossed a complete game, allowing two runs on nine hits in Black Hills’ 7-2 victory over Capital. Austin Lee went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI to help lead Black Hills.

Lucas Eastman’s three-run home run helped Rochester snap its two-game losing skid with a 7-2 win over Tenino.


Capital pitcher Britni Wilson pitched a 1-hitter and struck out 14 in the Cougars’ 4-0 win over Black Hills in a 2A Evergreen Conference game.

W.F. West scored six runs in the second inning and seven in the third inning on the way to a 15-1 victory over River Ridge. The Bearcats’ attack was led by Jessica McKay (2-for-2, two RBI), Drew Christopher (2-for-3) and Kenna Tornow (2-for-4).

Kaitlyn Churchill’s 3-for-4 hitting performance powered Tumwater to a 10-2 victory over Aberdeen.


North Thurston swept all three doubles matches for a 4-1 non-league win over South Kitsap. At No. 1 doubles, Haley Harn and Sheree Enlow cruised to a 6-0, 6-2 victory.


Centralia handed Capital its first loss in 2A Evergreen Conference play — 2-1 in overtime (4-3 shootout). Binod Sapkota had the tying goal in the 25th minute for Centralia.
