South Sound Prep Highlights for March 27

Matt Mercer went 3-for-4, including a home run, and drove in three runs in Timberline’s 10-0 non-league victory over Bellarmine Prep. Brandon Olson pitched 52/3 innings of shutout ball, surrendering three hits and striking out six.

Elliot Loague pitched a shutout, striking out nine batters in Olympia’s 8-0 4A Narrows League victory over Yelm. Leo Valenti went 3-for-3 with three RBI for Olympia.

Brad Wallace and Elijah Camacho had two hits and two stolen bases each in River Ridge’s 4-1 loss to W.F. West.

North Thurston held Lincoln hitless in a 10-0 victory in the 3A Narrows League. Ryan Mets struck out seven in four innings for the Rams.

Black Hills improved to 5-0 with an 11-8 win over Capital.


Sophomore Maddy Stensby pitched a one-hit shutout in Olympia’s 14-0 non-league victory over Shelton. Gabby Braniff (3-for-4, two runs), Brianna Bell (3-for-4, two RBI) and Nikki Schroeder (2-for-4, two RBI) led the Bears’ offense.

Dominique Greeno and Mattesyn Davis each hit a home run in North Thurston’s 4-3 loss to Bellarmine Prep.

Sammy Williamson and Paige Schieferstein each went 2-for-4 and had two stolen bases as Capital beat Black Hills, 7-1.

Megan Mendonca went 4-for-4 with five RBI and was the winning pitcher in Yelm’s 20-6 win over Lincoln.

Megan Porche went 2-for-3 for Timberline, but the Blazers managed just four hits and committed six errors in a 9-1 loss to South Kitsap.
