Getaway: Easter at Crystal

craig.hill@thenewstribune.comMarch 29, 2013

What: Looking for a scenic place to celebrate Easter? Try the top of Crystal Mountain, where the ski area holds its sunrise interdenominational service Sunday. After the service in the Summit House is over, visitors can hit the slopes as soon as the ski area opens at 9 a.m. The Easter Bunny is scheduled to hit the slopes, too. Those who can catch him will be rewarded; he reportedly has deep pockets loaded with candy. An afternoon Easter egg hunt for kids 10 and younger will be at the Alpine Inn.

When: The gondola will run from 6-6:30 a.m. to shuttle visitors to the service. The Easter egg hunt is at 12:30 p.m.

Where: Crystal Mountain Resort

Getting there: Follow state Route 410 through Enumclaw and Greenwater to Crystal Mountain Boulevard. Turn left and follow the road to the ski area.

Cost: Lift tickets are $66 for the day, $74 including gondola access. A round-trip ride on the gondola is $20 for foot passengers. Reduced prices are available for seniors and youth.

Details: To participate in the Easter egg hunt, parents must take 12 candy-filled eggs to the Alpine Inn by 11 a.m. The ski area is open until 4 p.m. Daily operations at Crystal continue until April 21 before the ski area transitions into spring and summer operations.
