An Elma man was injured after falling asleep at the wheel west of Brady on Saturday morning, according to a Washington State Patrol news release.

Lucas Morgan Meadows, 31, was driving his 1994 Toyota Celica west on U.S. 12 two miles west of Brady at 7:19 a.m. when he fell asleep and went off the road to the left, hitting a cable barrier.

Meadows was injured and taken to the hospital. Three passengers, two 9-year-old boys and a 13-year-old boy, were unhurt.

The State Patrol is accusing Meadows of second-degree negligent driving, the release said.
