Letter misinformed on hospital’s mission

LaceyMarch 31, 2013

The writer of a March 23 letter appears misinformed on the mission of Providence corporation, which reads as follows: “As people of Providence, we reveal God’s love for all, especially the poor and vulnerable, through our compassionate service.”

It is unfortunate that Providence and its good employees have been subjected to political tirades.

I spent most of this year under the care of agencies of Providence. The care was competent and conscientious.

Without it, I would be dead. Most of the costs were paid by Medicare.

Attitude of the letter and its commenters suggest the less fortunate be left to die. Hardly compassionate service.
