A Tumwater city council member will resign at the end of this month, according to a city news release.
Council member Betsy Spath will end her term as of April 30, after serving on the council since 2010. She retired from her second career as a geriatric care manager for a Tumwater law practice in December and will be moving with her husband to Arizona.
Spath spent her time on the council focusing on protecting manufactured housing parks in the city, and helped develop the funding agreement for the Thurston County Regional Health and Human Services Council.
Spath also served on the General Government Committee, Public Safety Committee, Human Services Review Council, Thurston County LEOFF Disability Board, Thurston County Emergency Medical Services Council and the Thurston County Transfer of Rights Committee.
A public reception will be held at 6 p.m. April 16 in Spath's honor at Tumwater City Hall before the regular council meeting.
