South Sound highlights for March 11

Brittany Sebesta’s walk-off RBI single in the bottom of the 11th inning lifted North Thurston to a 9-8 victory over Timberline, and the Rams and Blazers pull into a three-way tie for first place with Wilson in the 3A Narrows League. Ciera Davis, the winning pitcher, went 2-for-6 at the plate, with a home run with two RBI. Katelyn Kern finished 3-for-6 and scored twice for the Rams.

Kaylene Glasgo and Jocelyn Glasgo combined for five hits in Tumwater’s 6-3 win over Centralia in a 2A Evergreen Conference game. The Thunderbirds’ victory came one day after Centralia handed them their first loss of the season.


Sophomore Matt Mercer pitched a five-inning no-hitter, striking out 11 Foss batters in Timberline’s 12-0 victory in a 3A Narrows League game. Mercer also went 2-for-2 at the plate and scored three times. Cobi Beal finished 3-for-3 with three RBI for the Blazers. Follow South Sound high school sports by reading Meg Wochnick’s blog at
