Yelm Community Schools has received $994,453 in grant funding through the Jobs Now Act.
The funding is part of $11.2 million that was awarded to a dozen districts around the state.
Districts can use the money to replace or upgrade outdated facility systems such as air handling, water, heating and lighting systems.
Yelm Community Schools is delighted to receive such a substantial grant to improve the energy efficiency of our facilities, deputy superintendent Jeff Role said. This will enable the district to minimize its environmental footprint without impacting classroom funding.
