The Tumwater Police Department is looking for witnesses of a crash that seriously injured a 13-year-old Tumwater boy Tuesday night.
The 13-year-old Tumwater boy was apparently lying in the middle of Linderson Way Southwest near the intersection of Dennis Street Southwest when he was hit by a pickup truck driven by a 51-year-old Tumwater man.
The driver failed a field sobriety test and is being accused of vehicular assault, according to Det. Jen Kolb. The boy was taken to Providence St. Peter Hospital in Olympia for surgery, then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
Police are looking for anyone in the area of Linderson Way and Dennis Street between 8:30 p.m. and 8:45 p.m.
Anyone with information is asked to call Tumwater Det. Tressler at 360-754-4200.
