Police searching for man who raped, robbed Lacey-area woman

April 20, 2013

Police are searching for a man who raped and robbed a 23-year-old Lacey woman at knifepoint Friday night.

Thurston County Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 8200 block of Union Mills Road Southeast at 10:12 p.m., according to Sgt. Ken Clark.

The woman was home alone when her dog started “barking incessantly,” Clark said.

“She let the dog out and was confronted by a knife-wielding male,” Clark said.

Clark said the man forced his way into the woman’s home and sexually assaulted her. He then took her cash and keys to her white 1999 Volkswagen Jetta.

The woman did not know the man who assaulted her, Clark said. She has received medical treatment.

The man is described as a skinny white male about 5 feet, 10 inches tall and last seen wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants with his face covered by a red handkerchief or bandanna.

Police are still searching for the man and the Jetta with the license plate number AFA5251.

The Jetta is white with pink pearl paint, making the car look pink when the sunlight hits it, according to Lt. Greg Elwin. The Volkswagen emblem on the hood is pink, and the driver’s side bumper is damaged.
