Shelton lumber mill catches fire

April 21, 2013

A Shelton lumber mill caught fire Saturday afternoon, according to a news release.

The fire was reported in the power house of Simpson Lumber in downtown Shelton at 3:10 p.m.

Central Mason Fire and EMS responded and found fire in the wall extending to the second story of the building.

The cause of the fire is believed to be a hot ember that lodged itself under metal sheeting outside the powerhouse, the release said.
