Lewis-McChord soldier charged with raping live-in girlfriend

A soldier at Joint Base Lewis-McChord has been charged with raping his girlfriend after she passed out during a night of drinking.

Brandon Lee Douglas, 35, pleaded not guilty Thursday to a single count of second-degree rape. He was released on his own recognizance but was ordered restricted to JBLM until his case is resolved.

Pierce County prosecutors say Douglas raped his live-in girlfriend with a beer bottle Sunday after she passed out on the couch. He allegedly took photographs of the assault with the woman’s iPhone, court records show.

The woman woke up during the alleged attack and confronted Douglas, who asked her not to report what he’d done, the records show.

The woman made a report to sheriff’s deputies the next day.
