Police search for 2 men in Lacey robbery

Police are searching for two men who robbed the Lacey Jack in the Box off Martin Way East and assaulted an employee early Saturday morning.

The two men, carrying a baseball bat and a knife, used the drive-through window to get inside and confront the employees at 12:48 a.m., according to a news release.

One man made an employee retrieve money from the cash registers while the other man watched over the rest of the employees.

The employee retrieving the money was assaulted, the release said.

Both men left on foot. It is unknown what direction they went.

Lacey and Olympia police officers, Thurston County sheriff’s deputies and Washington State Patrol troopers searched the surrounding area with a search dog. The suspects were not found.

The injured employee was taken to a local hospital for treatment and has since been released.

The first suspect was described as a white man in his early 20s, standing between 5 feet 8 inches and 6 feet tall, weight between 140 and 160 pounds. He was last seen wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark pants. His face was covered by a dark-colored bandanna.

The second suspect is a man of unknown race in his early 20s, weighing around 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark sweatshirt and dark pants with a dark stocking cap over his entire head.
