Tenino police are investigating a Friday morning traffic crash at Sussex and Wichman Street South that resulted in a woman and her 4-year-old daughter being treated at Providence St. Peter Hospital.
According to Tenino police:
The woman was driving with her 4-year-old daughter on Sussex Street when a 47-year-old man driving on Wichman Street failed to yield the right of way on Sussex Street and broadsided the driver's side door of the woman's vehicle.
The side-impact airbags on the woman's Kia Forte were activated due to the impact of the collision. First-responders treated the woman and her daughter at the scene, and the mother sustained a broken collarbone. The 4-year-old was treated for cuts and abrasions.
The 47-year-old driver was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way and driving without insurance. He was not injured.
Two Tenino Officers, a Thurston County Sheriff Deputy, and two WSP Troopers and were needed to control traffic and conduct an investigation into the crash.
