150 JBLM soldiers return from Afghanistan Saturday

May 17, 2013

About 150 Joint Base Lewis McChord soldiers are returning Saturday from a six-month deployment in Afghanistan.

Families and friends will greet the soldiers from the 4th Stryker Brigade Combat Team, 2nd Infantry Division who spent their deployment supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

A homecoming ceremony will be held at Solder's Field House Sports and Fitness Center on base.

While deployed, the soldiers provided security force assistance as Afghan National Security Forces conducted wide-area security operations, as well as supported the Government of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan.
