Strawberry Festival

What: One of the oldest continuing festivals in the state, the 82nd edition of the festival will feature a grand parade, fireworks show, arts-and-crafts Market in the Park, vendor booths, carnival, kiddie parade and entertainment stage.

When: June 13-15

Where: Marysville

Talent show: Open to people of all ages, the show will be at 6:30 p.m. June 13 at the Marysville-Pilchuck High School auditorium. Tickets are $4 in advance and $5 at the door. Children younger than 7 years are admitted free. For pre-sale ticket information, call 360-653-6584.

Parades: The kiddie parade will start at 6 p.m. June 15, followed by the grand parade at 7:45 p.m. Grandstand seating for the parades is $5.

Berry Run: The June 15 race takes place at The Plant Farm at Smokey Point on a pavement course with a very short gravel section. Participants can participate in the 1 mile run/walk or in the 5K. All participants must register by Wednesday to receive a race T-shirt. Adult registration is $25.

Shortcake-eating contest: There will be a number of strawberry shortcake-eating contests held from noon-3 p.m. June 15 at Asberry Field. The entry fee is $5 for adults and $3 for children 11 and younger.
