Lacey’s Jon McCaslin shot a 1-under-par 70 at Brookdale Golf Course on Sunday to take a two-shot lead going into the final round of the Tacoma City Amateur.
McCaslin, who last week won the Capital City Amateur and won the 2009 City Am, is the only player under par after two rounds, after a 1-under 71 on Saturday at High Cedars in Orting for a two-round total of 2-under 141.
Tied for second at even-par 143 are recent Puyallup High School graduate Vinnie Murphy, 2007 City Am champion Tom Lewis and Ryan Kelly.
The third round will start at 10 a.m. Sunday at Eagles Pride Golf Course at Joint Base Lewis-McChord.
Scott Parel, 48, became the fourth-oldest winner on the Web.com Tour, closing with a 7-under 64 to win the Air Capital Classic in Wichita, Kan., by three shots.
University of Washington product Alex Prugh, the first-round leader, finished third and collected $44,000 to move up to 15th on the money list. The top 25 at the end of the season will be promoted to the PGA Tour.
