Two all-state football games set for this weekend in Moses Lake, Yakima

The state's two high school all-state football games take place this weekend with the 4A/3A "Summer Classic" at 7 p.m. Friday at Lion's Field in Moses Lake while the 2A/1A/B Earl Barden Classic is 1 p.m. Saturday at Yakima's East Valley High School.

2A/1A/B Earl Barden Classic
Six recent high school graduates will play on the West roster, coached by Morton/White Pass head coach Aaron Poquette. The West roster includes (and where the athletes are headed in parenthesis): Tumwater’s Andrew Brown (UW track) and Jaimie Bryant (UW football), Capital’s Mat Cox (North Dakota football) and Kai Van Sickle (Pima, Ariz., CC football), River Ridge’s Brad Wallace (North Idaho men’s hoops) and Mary M. Knight’s Kyle Willey.

4A/3A Summer Classic
Three South Sound seniors from the higher classifications are on the East roster: Timberline's Brandon Wetzel and Dayne Hadden and Yelm's Jacob Swilley (Central Washington football). The East is coached by Camas head coach Jon Eagle with Shelton head coach Matt Hinkle as an assistant coach.
