Stalling on tough topics only creates problems

LaceyJune 25, 2013

Let’s hope our government resolves the so-called crisis of telephone and email monitoring in a timely manner. Stalling and prolonged philosophizing can only result in another mess like illegal immigration or gun control.

We allegedly have 11 or 12 million illegal immigrants in the country and are agonizing over what to do with them. The issue should have been addressed about 11 or 12 million illegal immigrants ago.

Gun control continues to fester because guns proliferate. Is there a need for them at this point? Yes and no.

The days are long gone when we had to kill and skin animals to drag back to the cabin to cook in an iron pot in the fireplace. Hunting has been relegated to the status of a sport.

However, I don’t intend to be without a gun when the criminals who would prey on us have untold numbers of them out there. I understand constitutional rights, but we created a dilemma by not evolving.
