A Graham woman was hospitalized Friday night after driving into a mini van that had been left on shoulder of state Route 167 while it's driver helped the victim of another crash, according to the Washington State Patrol.

Monica E. Larsen, 45, of Puyallup was driving south on SR167 when she saw a crash in the northbound lanes near 24th Street at 9:54 p.m.

Larsen pulled her 2005 Mazda minivan to the left shoulder, but was partially blocking the lane. She got out of the van to go and help the northbound driver.

A 1998 Ford Escort driven by 25-year-old Elizabeth D. Ryser hit the van.

Ryser was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup. Larsen was not injured.

The cause of the crash is under investigation. Charges are pending.
