Cast an informed vote, then hope for the best

OlympiaJuly 9, 2013

I just read one of the letters to the editor that I agree with, but the proposal won’t work. The letter is from Jack Douglas, who is frustrated and disappointed with our representatives, as am I, to come up with an agreement on a budget for our state until almost the very last, the 11th hour vote.

But having all voters vote out the current legislators regardless of party won’t work. Because any legislators voted in, regardless of their party, will do the very same thing, vote with their party. It happened in the past, and it happens now.

All we voters can do is vote with an informative vote and not with a party, but that won’t happen either. I hope most of us vote for the best candidates we can and hope for the best, but expect the worst.
