Crash at Nisqually River Bridge backs up northbound traffic

UPDATE: Traffic is starting to smooth out on Interstate 5 near the Pierce-Thurston line.

Original story: Traffic on northbound Interstate 5 is backed up for three miles, from the Nisqually River Bridge to Marvin Road, in Lacey, according to the state Department of Transportation.

A wreck about 1:10 p.m. is the cause.

Southbound traffic is backing up from Mounts Road as drivers are distracted by the crash.
