STP cyclist hit by car near Roy

A Seattle to Portland Bicycle Classic rider was injured after being hit by a car Saturday morning near Roy, the Washington State Patrol reported.

The male bicyclist was taken to the hospital with a possible broken ankle and minor abrasions, said trooper Guy Gill.

Ten thousand cyclists were expected to ride through Thurston County on the 202.25-mile route Saturday and Sunday during the 34th annual event.

The half-way point is Centralia.
