Comparing gun ownership to bathrooms or televisions

RainierJuly 14, 2013

In the Our View opinion section, you cite the number of guns owned by Americans (50 percent higher than other nations) and then “wonder why we feel the need for so many guns.” Could the answer be because of people like you who question the constitutionally legal right to do so?

Perhaps you can cite some other statistics about America that is higher than most other nations. How many indoor bathrooms per house, the percentage of homes with safe drinkable water, how many automobiles per house, how many televisions per house, how many refrigerators/freezers per house.

This great county is blessed and we should be thankful for that.
