Developers propose McDonald's restaurant for Top Food site

July 14, 2013

Representatives of McDonald's have proposed a new restaurant to be located in the parking lot of the Top Food and Drug store in west Olympia, according to information submitted to Olympia's Community Planning and Development Department.

Under consideration is a 4,415-square-foot restaurant building, and parking for 33 vehicles, that would occupy the south corner of the Top Food site. It also would have a "dual throat drive-thru facility," and new pedestrian access to Black Lake Boulevard S.W., the submitted information shows.

The address for the site is 1313 Cooper Point Road S.W.

The intersection at Cooper Point Road and Black Lake Boulevard -- the city's busiest -- has been a popular destination for retailers in recent years. Others that have set up shop near there include Trader Joe's, and more recently, Buffalo Wild Wings.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
