CHEHALIS: House converted to apartments catches fire

Fire crews battled an apartment fire in Chehalis Tuesday morning, according to Lewis County Dispatchers.

Dispatchers said a large, old-style home converted into four or five apartments caught fire on West Street. Crews spent several hours at the scene where some of the residents suffered from smoke inhalation.

Fire crews from Thurston County, Chehalis, Riverside, Lewis District 6, Toledo, Winlock and Napavine responded.

Representatives from the American Red Cross also responded.
