Don Krupp, the longtime county manager for Thurston County, has accepted a new position as county administrator for Clackamas County in Oregon, according to a post on his Facebook page.

He starts his new job on Sept. 16.

"I am looking forward to this new challenge," he posted on his page. "At the same time, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to work for three very outstanding County Commissioners here in Thurston County -- Sandra Romero, Cathy Wolfe and Karen Valenzuela.

Krupp also included some statistics about Clackamas County. The county seat is in Oregon City, Ore.

"Clackamas County is the third largest county in the state of Oregon," Krupp posted.

"The county has a population of around 384,000 and is nearly 1,900 square miles in size. The county organization has a full-time workforce of around 1,900 employees and over 400 part-time employees."

"Life is a remarkable adventure," Krupp added in his post.
