I wish to add to the comments made by Seth Parker in The Olympian on July 17. My experience is similar. It has become a trial to drive from home to any location. I observe the posted speed limits that are completely ignored by most drivers. Even in the slow lane on I-5 going the speed limit, I am tailgated.
Drivers do not leave any space between cars/trucks so that if one must stop suddenly, an accident is bound to occur. Drivers will pass me on a 50 mph posted speed limit as though I was parked, and when I get to the next stop light, there they are. What is the big hurry?
Drivers mirror the lack of civility and courtesy that is the guiding force of social intercourse today.
