Olympia police have obtained an arrest warrant for a man suspected of robbing the Timberland Bank downtown at knifepoint July 18.

He was identified by Olympia police as Daniel Scot Stone, 24. Police identified the suspect based on bank surveillance footage of the robbery.

During the robbery, the suspect brandished a knife and fled on foot with an undisclosed sum of cash.

Olympia detectives have been unable to locate Stone. Police have reason to believe he may still be in the Olympia area, OPD spokeswoman Laura Wohl said Tuesday.

Stone's last known address is in Tumwater.

Olympia police urge anyone with information about Stone's whereabouts to call 911 immediately. Also, anyone who sees Stone should not approach him because he is considered armed and dangerous.

Callers may also contact Thurston County CrimeStoppers at 1-800-222-8477 and remain anonymous.
