Sewer main work begins on Black Lake Boulevard Monday

Staff writerJuly 27, 2013

Sewer main construction is expected to begin on Black Lake Boulevard in Olympia Monday, according to a city news release.

The city is replacing over 2,000 feet of sanitary sewer force main pipe. The pipe and lift station are almost 50 years old and at capacity, the release said.

Crews will work between 21st Avenue and RW Johnson Boulevard, as well as at the Black Lake Sewer Lift Station near Hope Community Church from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Work will be done Mondays through Thursdays and is expected to continue through September.

Traffic delays are expected while crews work on the shoulder and southbound lane of the road. Those who frequent the area are advised to take alternate routes when possible.
