Capitol Lake preferred by a majority of people

LaceyAugust 1, 2013

Thank you, John Dodge, for reminding everyone that the Legislature, Capitol Committee and other state-related organizations have been debating what to do with Capitol Lake for way too many years. It’s been going on and on for what seems a lifetime. We’ve voted many times through email and phone calls, and always, the majority of the people want a lake.

When I was a teenager, I remember being able to swim in Capitol Lake and watching my brother participate in the Lakefair water skiing contests.

It’s ridiculous for state managers to continue to do nothing about this truly wonderful blessing Thurston County has. I sincerely hope that those people who can actually make a decision about the lake, take responsibility to turn it back into the beautiful lake it was many years ago.

I’ve had enough of the decades of debates, as I’m sure most Thurston County residents have.
