Letter explains why the state won't outsource interoffice mail

Here's the letter from Gov. Jay Inslee's budget director, David Schumacher, explaining why his agency chose not to contract with a courier service to deliver state mail outside the Olympia area.

Our story about the decision -- and other outsourcing decisions that are still in the works a month and a half after a deadline -- ran in Sunday's paper.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper. We encourage lively, open debate on the issues of the day, and ask that you refrain from profanity, hate speech, personal comments and remarks that are off point. Thank you for taking the time to offer your thoughts.
