Temporary sidewalk closures on North Street begins Tuesday

Staff writerAugust 20, 2013

Beginning Tuesday, sidewalks adjacent to North Street SE in Tumwater will be closed temporarily to allow a contractor to install new ramps as part of the City of Tumwater’s North Street ADA Ramp Retrofit Project.

Signs will be installed to direct pedestrians to sidewalks around the construction site.

Sidewalks are expected to be open on weekends. The contractor will begin saw-cutting the sidewalk and installing new ramps along the north side of the street first.

Work on the project is weather dependent, but construction is expected to be complete by mid-September. For more information, call Public Works at 360-754-4140.
