The hour is late in Egypt

August 24, 2013 

Egypt is on a path of self-destruction as the deadly power struggle plays out between the military regime and Muslim Brotherhood. Neither faction is capable of governing the country and reasonable alternatives are nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, the United States response to the street fighting and brutality is muddled at best. The promise of a brighter future envisioned in the Arab Spring two years ago is a shattered dream.

The Olympian is pleased to provide this opportunity to share information, experiences and observations about what's in the news. Some of the comments may be reprinted elsewhere in the site or in the newspaper.
