Evergreen won its first volleyball match in nearly three years Saturday when it defeated Montana-Western, 3-1 (25-13, 22-25, 25-17, 25-22) on the final day of the Red Lion Cascade/Frontier Challenge tournament in Spokane.

The Geoducks' last match win was Oct. 30, 2010 -- a span of 52 matches -- when they topped Warner Pacific, 3-1, in a Cascade Collegiate Conference match at the CRC Gymnasium. The Geoducks were winless of 2011 and 2012.

Victoria Love and Cassidy Watkins each had a match-high 15 kills to pace Evergreen (1-3), which opens CCC play at home Sept. 6 against Concordia.
