Good grades show what we already knew

August 30, 2013

Residents of the South Sound already know that we enjoy well-run, high-quality public school districts, but it’s nice to have quantified confirmation of that perception.

Almost every district improved its year-over-year scores on student achievement test results released Monday. While statewide scores didn’t change much, Thurston school districts continued to outperform state averages.

South Sound educators deserve praise for our students’ high and improving scores on the Measurements of Student Progress for grades three to eight, the High School Proficiency Exam and the End-of-Course exams.
