A man sustained injuries in a rollover crash on the beach a mile south of Moclips in Grays Harbor County late Friday night.

According to a Washington State Patrol press memo: Curtis Horton, 43, of Lake Tapps was allegedly driving recklessly and doing donuts on the beach when he lost control of a 1979 Jeep CJ5 at about 11:20 p.m. and flipped it on its side.

Passenger Michael Walls, 43, of Buckley, was injured and transported to Grays Harbor Community Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt.

Horton, who was not hurt in the crash, allegedly fled the scene on foot, but was later apprehended, according to the patrol.

Drugs or alcohol are believed to have been factors in the crash which is still under investigation, the press memo stated.
