Glee star to help raise funds at Timberline High School Sept. 18

Timberline High School will play host to "Glee" star Derik Nelson at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 18, to raise money for the school's arts and music program, according to a press release from Timberline.

"Right now, Arts and Arts Education are under constant scrutiny, and often in jeopardy due to budgetary decisions out of our control. Art is critical, because it teaches to 'the whole child," said Brenda Amburgy in the press release. Amburgy is the is the director of Timberline's Visual and Performing Arts Department.

According to the release, the concert is part of Nelson's "Take Chances Tour," providing high schools across the west coast the opportunity to raise needed funds through ticket sales.

Nelson will perform a full-band pop/rock concert.
