America should stay out of other people’s countries

This anticipated fight in Syria looks like another lost cause. According to a Foreign Policy report, even the author of the strategy doesn’t think it will work. But hey, it’s another war. And we like war, right? Good for the economy, or at least those who sell the weapons.

I know, we are doing it for moral reasons. It’s OK for a petty dictator to kill a lot of his people with bombs and bullets. But don’t use chemicals. That’s not humane. And if you do, we’ll come over and bomb you. (And maybe some of your citizens, too.)

We did this in Iraq, and that sure worked out well, didn’t it? We should stay out of other peoples’ countries unless they pose a direct threat to us or one of their neighbors.
