Rip out parking meters, and put feds on the lake

Two comments: On downtown parking meters and Capital Lake.

Parking meters: Downtown parking meters should be removed, permanently. Why bother busy citizens on their way to or from doing business? They don’t need or want extra charges, or extra worries. Think about it. Are they worth the hassle. People of all descriptions have enough to deal without the added burden of parking meters! And downtown business would certainly increase, don’t you think?

As to the embarrassment of Capital Lake: This asset(?) should be a prime drawing point next door to downtown, don’t you think? Call in the Army Corps of Engineers. In other words, the feds. They will get the appropriate job done, earlier than later.
