Personnel announcement: Health Care Authority names Fotinos deputy chief medical officer

The state Health Care Authority has appointed Dr. Charissa Fotinos, effective Oct. 1, to be the agency's new deputy chief medical officer.

Fotinos currently is chief medical officer for Public Health Seattle-King County. She's also a clinical associate professor in the department of family medicine at the University of Washington.

Fotinos also has worked on mobile medical services with the Metropolitan Development Council in Tacoma, as medical director with the Seattle Children's Home Safe Links program, and has been affiliated with both Providence and Swedish Hospitals in addiction recovery programs, clinic operations and as a teaching and staff physician, according to a news release.
