The League of Women Voters of Thurston County and Group Health are teaming up to host a forum explaining Obamacare on Thursday evening in Olympia. The event begins at 6:30 p.m. at The Olympia Center, 222 Columbia St. NW.
A league announcement says the forum will address questions about changes coming in 2014 as a result of the Affordable Care Act – such as who is eligible to buy coverage through the Healthplanfinder exchange, how to use the exchange, and how Medicaid and Medicare recipients are affected.
Scheduled to speak are Libby Weisdepp of the CHOICE Regional Health Network, which has a contract with Healthplanfinder for enrolling Thurston County residents in the exchange, Nathan Johnson of the Washington Health Care Authority, and Megan Howell of Group Health’s government relations office. For details, call Cynthia Stewart of the league at 360-413-1210.
