Island Market on Steamboat Island Road robbed at gunpoint

A man robbed the Island Market in the 3400 block of Steamboat Island Road NW Sunday night while armed with a handgun.

According to the store clerks, a white male pointed a gun at them when he walked into the store about 9:30 p.m. The suspect demanded money and then reached across the counter and grabbed an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect then ran out of the store, and was last seen headed toward Sexton Drive NW.

The suspect is described as about five-feet, eleven-inches tall, wearing a black baseball cap, a black zippered jacket and grey sweatpants. He was wearing tinted glasses and he had a grey or black bandana covering his nose and mouth.
