Students at Hansen Elementary School in Olympia read a whopping 63,053 minutes during a summertime Readathon, according to organizer Amanda Eaton with the Hansen Community Council.

The event raised $2,273, she said.

Students earned points for reading amounts and collecting pledges.

Grade-level winners were Lucy Eaton, Emilia Beardsley, Hailey Busch, Julianna Belville and Connor Tradewell.

Busch earned enough points to claim the title as overall winner, and her prize was a new bike.
