Skyline Drive-In reopens after repairs

September 20, 2013

The Skyline Drive-In movie theater near Shelton, closed since Sept. 5 because of damage from a lightning strike, will reopen tonight.

The drive-in’s new digital projector was damaged after lightning struck a power pole at the edge of the property and traveled down the line to the main building. The projector was installed in August following a successful crowdsourcing project on the website Kickstarter.com that raised more than $40,000 from more than 500 contributors.

The drive-in opens at 7 p.m. with an R-rated horror double feature originally intended for Friday the 13th: “You’re Next” followed by “The Conjuring.” Because Skyline closes for the season before Halloween, it will award all of Friday’s patrons wearing Halloween costumes complimentary popcorn or soda.

For more information on Skyline, call 425-346-8302.
